Mine Safety Awareness Activities for Schoolchildren in Kyiv's Dniprovskyi District

The Global Security NGO, in cooperation with Risk Control LLC, conducts awareness-raising activities to improve public understanding of the risks associated with mines and explosive remnants of war.

Particular attention is given to children and adolescents. Ahead of the summer holidays, specialists from the two organisations held a series of sessions for students from schools in Kyiv's Dniprovskyi District.

During the sessions, students learned:

  • which objects may pose a danger;
  • how to identify suspicious objects and potentially hazardous areas;
  • why unknown objects must never be touched;
  • what actions to take if such objects are discovered;
  • whom to notify about a potential danger.

By 2026, the activities had reached more than 1,000 students. The knowledge gained helps children behave more safely and share important safety information with their families and others close to them.

Such activities are particularly important before the summer holidays, when children spend more time outdoors and in open areas.

The Global Security NGO and Risk Control LLC will continue their efforts to improve public safety and raise awareness of mine-related risks.
